Pear trees on heavily mosquito populated Burchfiel Farms.

Just in case you haven't heard yet, I'm hired part time at my church as the media director. Well I must say, I've never wanted to work in a church after my summer youth ministry internship. Really, it's never been appealing to me, but here I am. It really seems to be God's timing and working, since work has been slow the last month or so and I could use some more experience in video production. Never stop learning. So the extra money will do wonders for me and if you happen to be a donar, then thank you cause it's a beautiful thing you're doing. I'm still trying to do some different projects photographically, so I'm open to different suggestions if anyone has any ideas or wants to be photographed or experimented with photographically. Give me a call or shoot me an email with experimental photos in the subject line. I appreciate your love my friends. It looks like I will be going on a blind date soon! Since I've been single for a couple years now it's been good being single, but lately I've really longed for female companionship. It's nice to have someone to be with and love. Ok it's just a blind date, so I'm not expecting it to be a dream come true but I hope for a fun time. Alright, peace. J Bopp
PS - another night photo from last night.

Hey I've been a bit sick this week with sinus problems and now my left ear hurts from time to time. Needless to say it hasn't been a very good week. Anyhow last weekend was great with get aways to Decatur, AL and Nashville, and of course the Coldplay concert. Wow. They really put on a great show and sounded fantastic. I would love to see them again in the future. Also in music news, Incubus are entering the recording studio again to kick out their 5th studio release. I'm guessing it will be released sometime in the new year. Peace. Jeremy

DHS 3 - Trenton Peabody 2 Great game!

Sunday, September 11, 2005

It had been about 6 years since the last time I visited the county fair, so last night I went to see what it was like again. Of course I got in for free too, since I was carrying my camera, so that was very cool. Normal gate fees were $10, so it's always nice to get into events free because you are a photographer. Well I didn't want to bring a tripod, so all of the shots taken were hand held with my Canon 20d and 17-40mm lens and I believe this particular shot was exposed for 1.5 - 2.0 seconds. Some where in that region of time and probably around f22. I put a watercolor effect and some unsharp mask on it. All in all the fair was what I remembered it to be, although I did notice many more police officers than ever before. The band I heard last night was very good. I've never been a big country fan, but T. Graham Brown has alot of blues infuence in his music, which was very enjoyable and a great voice. Anyway enough talk. JB

I was nearly run over during this game, but my cat like quickness saved me so I could shoot another day. Thanks for the feedback Mr. Seattle. Peace JB

Well I'd like to say I'm really proud of our Men's National Soccer team for putting the smack down on Mexico last night. 2-0 was the final score and could have been 3-0 just as easily. I'd also like to say thanks to my new friends who were kind enough to allow me to watch the game with them. I'm really digging blogging and I hope everyone that visits this site is digging it too. I appreciate all feed back, so don't be afraid to write me some love letters, ok! Haha. Anyway life has been good this year and especially since the middle of April, because I went totally free lance at that time. I've really enjoyed being able to concentrate on not working and having all fun all the time, no really, I've really focused on photography these last five months. It has been refreshing and productive, but funds are running deathly low, so I am faced with reality of getting a part time job to supplement my income. I don't like it, but you've got to do what you've got to do sometimes and I think God could be leading me to a new place spiritually through a new job. Life can be really boring sometimes and other times it can be so in your face. Of course there are many other life instances, like uncertainty, but I think it is beautiful. I am uncertain from time to time of what I want to do with my life, or if God really wants me to be a photographer. I love photography, but I was thinking today while I was sitting in church what my life would be like if I weren't so obsessed with photography. What would I be doing? Watching football or Nascar? I hope not! I just want to be doing something that's important and will make a lasting impact or legacy. I guess I want to be "known" or remembered. I'm 27 years old, is this normal? One thing I do know is this past year has been a good one living back in Dyersburg. I absolutely love my church. I have gotten to know several people well and I look forward knowing them more and sharing myself with more people too. Life is too short to be alone or be unknown. Thank God for Led Zeppelin, or Led Zefflin as my dad calls them. Life is beautiful and Jesus is God. With out him I would be a very selfish person. Thank God for humility! JB

Behold the mighty hummingbird. Fierce predators on the top of their food chain. I captured this image with a 1000mm lens at a distance of 150 meters under heavy camoflage for fear of death. You do not want to excite or piss off a mother humming bird, the consequences would be ugly. Ha ha just practicing my creative writing skills, hope you enjoy! JB

This star shot was also taken last night during a 15 minute exposure, and yes a 15 minute download/buffer time, ahh. Actually I was surprised this shot turned out, because after I closed the shutter I happened to check the lens with my mobile phone light and found the UV filter to be fogged over. Yet it still came out like this and next time the filter and lens will be checked before hand. Pretty cool shot, but next time I'll go for 30 minutes. Peace JB

I took this photo last night in my back yard. I'd been wanting to do some night photos for the last month or so and finally had some clear skies and cool temps out side. This was taken with my digital 20d and 17-40mm lens. It was exposed for around 3 minutes. I love how the greens are so vivid without any work done in PS. I also used the long exposure custom function, which is a little bothersome since you basically have a buffer time equal to that of your expose time, but maybe it actually helps to cause less grain.
On another note, I've been listening to U2's How to dismantle an atomic bomb again lately. Great album, I can't wait to see them in December. Wow! Coldplay is coming up in a few weeks. I will give reviews, so if you aren't the lucky person who gets to go with me then you can hear how it was straight from my lips.
