I went to the National guard building last week when troops were coming home from Iraq. I was late, but I did manage to capture this moment with a soldier and his family greeting.
Here is also another version of a previously posted picture from last week. I've been working on doing special effects work in PS. Tell me what you think. JB

The weekend was a nice time up in Indiana visiting my brother and his family. It was only the second time for me to see my nephew, so it was awesome to play with him and see his personality now that he is 10 months old. The weather was so wonderful too, averaging around 75 degrees in the day. Of course now that I'm back in Tennessee the "katrina" storms are bringing alot of rain and wind here. Nice for a change not to have drought conditions. Well I also found out that my bro won't be going to the Coldplay concert with me, so that leaves an extra ticket. I haven't decided who to take yet.

This is a shot that was taken yesterday for test purposes. There may be some album work coming soon! We are going to Indy tomorrow to see big brother Matt and his beautiful wife Jessy and son Jacob. Peace to your faces. JB

Denim Pencil Live Unplugged!

This is my pal Tony from Ktown. He's a characaturist (hope I spelled that right) and is now getting into large scale murals. These photos are from a shoot we did when he was working on a characature for one of his friends. It was shot on Ilford 3200 b&w with Canon eos1N body and 28-135mm lens. I love the look of that film, so gritty and nice contrast. Love it! Lately I've been wanting to shoot some film again. Don't get me wrong, I love digital, but there's just something about the whole process of shooting film that is beautiful and special. So there is a roll of Velvia 50 in my 1N right now. I'd like to get some Ilford some time soon as well.
I recently finished watching the appendices discs from the LOTR trilogy, all 6 extra discs. Wow that was alot of information and being from a video production back ground, I can relate with some of those experiences. What a great experience that seemed to be for those involved with making thoses films. I can only dream of having an experience like that some day. What a true fellowship they had. 1John3:18-24 Just looked this scripture up and it kind of ties in with a fellowship/love theme. JB

This is my pal ,JJ, from Knoxville. He loves to listen to Stevie Wonder records and has quite a huge collection of Motown on vinyl. He just got into selling real estate this year, which he should be very good at since he has been in sales for several years now. Cheers to you my friend, I hope to see you soon.

I've been photographing some family portraits lately, so I thought I would share a few. It's been alot of fun and I've gotten to know the families more too. Good times! Also, the 70-200mm lens has arrived! Yeah! Although I don't remember receiving any donations to help me pay for it? Well I guess I can forgive that, but maybe you can help out on the next big purchase, ok. Peace to you and keep it real. JB

Here's my new hat. I like it. The 80's really are back in style now aren't they. The music, clothes, Atari are all the "retro" look now. Bust out the slip n slide and let's get wet!

One dragonfly that had no fear of me and Jeff being two places at once. Yes he's that fast!

Here's a pic from a trip to Reelfoot Lake last Sunday for sunset. Quite a beautiful spot for sunset. Big thanks to my friend Jeff, also a photographer, for guiding the trip. It was a very wild spot with fishing jumping, snakes, turtles, ducks, and dragonflies all doing what they do.

Finished a photo job today and got paid. Always nice to get good feed back and compliments from happy customers! So that was nice, but then I found out one of my video jobs this month was cancelled. Arrrg! Not cool, I really could have used that money, but what can you do eh? Also played some soccer tonight with some friends and had a good time. Met some nice ladies out there kicking around too, but then I found out they are leaving for college in Oklahoma this weekend. Dang. So the USA vs Mexico sold out in a few seconds. I wasn't one of the happy ticket holders. On the other hand, I am one of the happy holders of Coldplay tickets, so I feel good about seeing them for the first time. It surprises me when I mention that I've been listening to Coldplay lately and people have no idea who I'm talking about. I read some bible this afternoon, it was nice. It's funny how I can go about two weeks without cracking it open. I don't like doing that, but it happens. It was nice to read the bible again today. Some Philippians and James just in case you wanted to know. Well I'm getting sleepy. Peace and keep up the good fight ok!

toothpick holder in my kitchen open up and say ahhhhh

Okay, I'm pumped. Mexico vs USA soccer tickets go on sale tomorrow. Wow, it will be my second world cup qualifier this year. USA vs Guatemala was the first. Of course my good buddy Efren Arriaga is going and my brother is in too, so it is sure to be entertaining. Some more good news... beep beep beep...I just scored some Coldplay tix for Nashville later in September. How about that? I wonder who I can bring with me? Also my friends Ruben and Bo aren't gay, and yes we're still friends, so I hope that clears everything up. Hey is anybody even reading this stuff? Maybe, maybe not. If you are reading, don't be afraid to leave some comments from time to time. Okay love ya, off to eat pop cicles and listen to Foo Fighters and play air guitar or air drums. Night night folks. I wonder how it feels in Cali right now? JB
